Punk/ Punk Rock music was what these adolescents created and found comfort to listen to.
Due to their rebellious fashion, it also caused their behavior to become just the same.
They valued Individuality, they wanted to standout and make a statement with their appearance. As far as language goes they didn't have that much of a different language than the rest of society around them. as for symbols though, they were closely in relations with skulls, stenciled words, and stars. It showed the people not associated with this behavior what they were about and it would be the trademark someday after the trend faded, that is if it ever has. Today we still see these components, maybe not as aggressive as in the 70's, but they definitely exist.
